“Rinyo Kobo” workshop in Kyoto, Japan has been manufacturing time-honored traditional metallic sound instruments (so called “narimono”) for centuries. Among other numerous pieces, the craftsmen of Rinyo Kobo have created “Shirai Bell” which is undoubtedly the best bicycle bell ever made.
Every part of the bell is carefully hand-made to produce a pleasant sound never heard before. Every bell is unique in its own way and produces an original sound.
It is also possible to give a personal touch to the bell by introducing your own design using traditional Japanese embossing and colouring techniques.
This bell is a product of both – Buddhist culture of Japan and tremendous efforts of generations of craftsman who developed the traditional techniques of metal works.
Shirai Bell made its debut at Ride Beret Baguette 2013 bicycle event in Paris, France, where it was offered for sale for the first time.
The timbre of the bell was highly appreciated in France and continues to grow in popularity with no rivals to question its perfection.

The sound of “Orin” made by Rinyo Kobo is the most appreciated in Japan
Shirai Bell is made using the same techniques that is used to create the “Orin”, traditional Buddhist instrument, also reffered to as the “singing bowl”.
For Japanese people, the sound of “Orin” is strongly associated with paying a tribute to family members who passed away, and, at the same time, easing the pain of loss.
It is commonly believed in Japan that gentle sound of “Orin” relieves the pain and brings peace to mind body and soul.
